Shaqada aasaasiga ah ee a baabuur jiidid is to clear accident vehicles and illegally parked cars, and sometimes to provide rescue services. Often, the tires of accident vehicles cannot roll for various reasons. This is when the auxiliary wheels of the baabuur jiidid become crucial. How do you use the auxiliary wheels of a baabuur jiidid? Let me explain the method to you.
There are two types of auxiliary wheels for tow trucks: Type A and Type B.
- Type A auxiliary wheels use low-speed tires and must not exceed 30 km/h when towing. Exceeding this speed can cause the tires to overheat, damage, or wear out quickly.
- Type B auxiliary wheels are lightweight, convenient, and quick to use, with a low lifting range, making them especially suitable for small vehicles with low chassis. They are mainly used in urban areas with good road conditions for short-distance towing.
Here is how to use Type A auxiliary wheels:
- Take the entire auxiliary wheel device from the baabuur jiidid and place it on the ground beside the towed vehicle’s tires.
- Release the safety hook, lower the safety handle, and rotate the auxiliary wheels to the free position.
- Adjust the two connecting rods to the appropriate length and width to clamp the towed vehicle’s tires, then insert the ends into the upright auxiliary wheel connecting rod seats.
- Insert the pry bar into the pry bar seat hole on one end of the auxiliary wheel, release safety handle 2, then use your hand to release safety handle 1 while using the other hand to pry the bar, lifting the towed vehicle’s tire with the rotating auxiliary wheel. Lower the towed vehicle’s tire from the auxiliary wheel using the same method.
- When the auxiliary wheel reaches its limit, release safety handles 1 iyo 2, and lock the safety hook. Install the auxiliary wheel on the other side in the same way.
- After installing one side of the auxiliary wheels, install the other side in the same way.
- Use safety straps to secure the towed vehicle’s tires to the auxiliary wheels. Finally, check that everything is in order.
This describes the method for using Type A auxiliary wheels.
For Type B auxiliary wheels:
- Identify the tires to be lifted.
- Place the auxiliary wheels under the car tires.
- Pull up the two front positioning pin locks, rotating them slightly to prevent them from resetting.
- Using the leverage bar, apply force in the direction indicated by the arrow to rotate to the required position, then reset the corresponding positioning pin lock to secure the wheel axle frame.
- Use the leverage bar on the other handle and apply force in the direction of the arrow until the positioning pin lock is reset to secure the wheel axle frame.
- Repeat these steps on the other side of the vehicle.
- After both sides are lifted, prepare for towing. Once all preparations are done, you can proceed to tow the accident vehicle.
These are the methods for using the two types of auxiliary wheels on a baabuur jiidid. Do you understand them now?
